It's the lunar new year here in Vietnam, also known as Tết. Said to be the beginning of Spring, the first day of Tết is traditionally spent with family and everyone is on holiday. Many people travel back to their family homes in the countryside during Tết. But that doesn't mean that Hanoi is empty, the true Hanoians left behind are out and about often wearing their smartest clothes in order to pose for a family portrait or two.
I travelled into the centre with my camera and took some stills in a street photography style. It was nice to be around people basking in the fine weather, shaking off the chilly Hanoi winter.
Happy New Year! Chúc mừng năm mới!
